The good news is Blizzard does plan on bringing cross-play to Diablo II: Resurrected once it becomes more fleshed out, sometime after launch. Unfortunately, this means beloved features like co-op will be sidelined since it doesn't coincide with Diablo II's iconic structure.
Instead of including multiple unnecessary game modes with limited appeal, developers seem to be sticking close to its source material. Couch co-op would be fantastic, but it wouldn't enhance the experience as much as a cross-play feature.īlizzard's commitment to recreating an authentic Diablo experience in Diablo II: Resurrected is reputable. Cross-play wouldn't change the game's legendary blueprint and would allow more Diablo fans to come together. Diablo fans are spread across all mainstream gaming platforms and would love to share their experience with friends playing on rival hardware.
Cross-play's absence in Diablo II: Resurrected should be more concerning than the lack of couch co-op.
