I remember a Let's Play where Baer Taffy (prior to a patch) had two separate Shrieker thefts, leaading to 16 stolen trinkets. I'm not overwhelmingly offended by the Shrieker bypassing my attempted protection, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if it doesn't seem like so much BS (I'm a little offended). perhaps you shouldn't have ventured into the Dungeon? If your hit chance is 10% because of the level of your heroes, their quirks, and the trinkets if any equipped. Which, as I understand it, is kinda what Darkest Dungeon recommends: work the odds to the point that they are as much in your favor as possible. It was absolutely me trying to "game" the system because - guess what - I am a gamer and I will do everything I can to work the system to get the best possible results. One method I wasn't sure might serve as a way to protect the more rare and useful trinkets from being stolen by the Shrieker - which I imagine others have thought of - was to simply equip those trinkets on heroes not currently out on an expedition. This is what led me to try and find a way to game the Event. Note: When the Shrieker steals my trinkets, it *always* shows up in the Weald as a Champion level enemy, regardless of the level of heroes in my estate's roster.
